Write for us
We welcome thoughtful proposals about countryside weekends, seasonal outings, rural pastimes, gatherings and the details that make leisure feel rooted in place. Send proposals through the Contact page; please do not send a complete article unless requested.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the subject, the reader it is for and the central idea in a few clear sentences. A useful proposal has a distinct angle, a sensible scope and a reason it will remain interesting beyond a single news moment or season. Practical subjects should be safe for a general reader and should not depend on professional or local-authority advice.
The voice and approach
We look for writing that is specific, observant and easy to follow, with a calm countryside sensibility. Explain unfamiliar terms, separate personal preference from fact and avoid claims that need evidence you cannot supply. Pitches should offer a fresh subject rather than repeat an existing article's central idea.
Sending a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include a working title, a short outline and a note about any relevant experience or material you can bring. A proposal is not a promise of publication. Please do not include confidential or sensitive personal information.
